Game won't load. I get a Dominon start up screen, then screen goes black and STAYS black.

UGH. At the very least I wish I could get on at least long enough to check on my skills and more to be learned if it needed it.

It seems that a lot of people are having this problem. I haven't been able to login since the deployment. Been trying all day, including driver upgrades, and reinstall of the client (several times). Hopefully they'll have a fix for this soon - I just reactivated my account!
I'm having the exact same problem. As soon as I start the game, the splash page appears, goes to the log in screen, but instead it's just a blank screen. Sometimes my cursor appears, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried everything suggested in this thread, I've tried updating every driver associated with my laptop, I've reinstalled multiple times, and not even the repair thing works. I'm using an Inspiron 1525, and as I've seen I'm not the only one with the problem (even on this platform). If my worst thoughts are correct, I'm going to have to shell out some real life isk for a new computer, when Eve was working perfectly fine up until now.
My laptop isn't even a year old, I'm not getting a new one just to play this game, lol. I'd just cancel payment and stop playing first. Which might be soon if I dont't see any improvement, no sense in paying for something I can't use. Sad that all that work I did to get my cruiser working is down the drain though. My Thorax and I had good times together.

Well at least I'm not alone but wtf are we suspose to do about it? Just sit around and wait and hope they do another patch for this patch?

I did get it to load *once* for long enough to uncheck shadows and lower the graphics settings and set colors down n such. so i hopefully that's a good sign.

Computer -> Local Disk -> Windows
Scroll down and you'll see it. I'm about to backup my laptop and try it. Here's to hoping it works.

I'm slow. I don't get it. Does this mean my drivers are out of date? Cuz I don't think they are, I do windows update often and if it needs new drivers, it usually nabs them then. I even ran it like 2 days ago and got new drivers in that report of **** it did when it updated.
Just to check, I tried looking online for new drivers but.. no luck, everything wants me to pay for it and the programs look shady, so I don't trust them. Gateway online wasn't much help either, I installed some drivers from there and they don't seem to have installed at all and there's no real instructions on how to do it.

HDR and Shadows are off.
EDIT: Turns out it was a driver issue. Dell attempts to force you to use their outdated drivers but I found a work around for installing drivers directly from intel. Problem solved.

If anyone else is having this issue here is how you can resolve it.
Open regedit, find these two keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000 and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0001, then delete the InfPath entries under them. Reboot and install drivers direct from intel
Will that work for a gateway laptop? I don't want to risk breaking the whole damn thing just to get this game to work, lol.

I'm not seeing an infPath here but I do see a IconPath, is that the same thing?

those directions are for people with a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. I dont know about any others... look at the known issues topic. and for that matter report the bug and incude your specific information.
I didn't think that work for me but since the guy that tried to help me quoted me, I thought it was worth a try. I already did a bug report. I could try known issues but the game worked fine before, the patch is was broke it. I was trying drivers as a kind of last resort since a few peeps with black screens of death seemed to get it going again following that inspiron thing. This is too much of a pain in the ass. I shouldn't need to have graduated MIT to get my game that worked fine before to work now.

Steps,
1. Upgrading all drivers including Direct X to the newest verions.
2. Dont change graphic setting in the Esc pannel. if you did already, rename your "EVE" folder to another name, like "Stupid Game" and then restart eve.exe again. Then, you will see EULA again.Click accept. Remeber not to change the settings. Uncheck settings in ESC pannel, might result in "Black" or "Blue" Screen.
3. Done, log in your chara.
HOW do u manually update drivers on a laptop?

I was finally able to get on dominion. Looks like the only issue I'm having now is I can't get all my **** to stack right. I go to stack it to keep my items hanger nice and neat and it just shoves the stuff all the hell at the bottom of the item hanger instead. UGH. I like to be organized!! Can't do stack all in the hanger as that would mess up my stack system I have on the ammo and drones.

Umm.. I tried to get online to dominion right now and it's saying incompatible version... I'm sure I just tried to get back on too soon and this just has something to do with maitance and it will be fine once maitance is done? Right? Right?

if yo look at little box above your logon detail you will see they are currently releasinga hot fix.. thus there will diff version.
WHAT?! Oh hell no. I finally got the damn thing WORKING. This better not mess it up again. UGH.

UGH. Alright. Where do I get the new dominion? it says a new one has been deployed, hence mine is incompatible but unlike the first dom patch, gives nothing for me to download.

I've been having trouble with my missions. I've had two now that when I get there, it looks like someone else did them cuz there's yellow wrecks all over the place like they used probes and found it and killed everything. I CAN'T finish my mission then and quiting them HURTS BAD in the rankings!

Asteriod belts aren't refreshing. Two days now and my home system is still out of all the ombers and plagioclase's. I'm even online right after maintence atm and there is still none those asteroids.
